If not then pro Tools is just not crashing (being killed by the OS/runtime when it does bad things).

Is there anything showing under System.log? Have that Console window open looking at System Log and start up Pro Tools and see if any new messages happen?

Are any processes running after Pro Tools exits?

My next suspicion would be to try moving aside all plugins and see if this still happens, and try to isolate what plugins are faulty if any. Failing that I would try uninstalling and reinstall Pro Tools (yes again).

If you have Pro Tools dlog files then Avid support may want to look at them, you will need to contact them.

Thanks. This shows up after protools boots...

What a surprise, a plugin related problem. Remove/uninstall your Duende plugins, I bet the problem goes away.

What is happening here is undoutably Duende's fault, Pro Tools is catching that failure and then maybe just getting confused/upsed and exiting without a clear error, which is not good. But the plugin software is likely at fault as the root cause. Its is just not causing Pro Tools to crash in the OS X process crash sense.

Others have complained about the same problem here in the past. e.g. http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=324193. Go look more here and on the SSL forums and/or contact SSL support.

And..

See this FAQ

I really hope SSL has gotten beyond this by now but you'll need to follow up on that.

Thanks, that makes sense. They say to stay below PT 10.2. I was pretty sure it started after an update at one point, but couldn't put my finger on exactly when it happened.

Many thanks

Anyone happen to have a link to a 10 full installer PRE 10.2? Of course, it's the ONE that don't have on file, and the only full install I can find on here is 10.3.7

I'm on Duende (iLok) with PT 10, rock solid now since SSL's latest update.
