"Offline" problem

Hi,
I'm running a session using a Control 24 and a Pro Tools HD2 Accel system. Everything had ben running smoothly until suddenly, PT decided it no longer wanted to write to my external hard drive. I asked the studio owner about this quirk and he said that it had to do with some PT preferences and logs, that it had happened before, etc. He trashed those folders and PT was again able to read and write to external drives. But now it won't recognize the Control 24. I am still able to use the Control 24 pres and monitoring, etc. but it reads "Offline" all the time, both with old and new sessions and thus I can't use any of its mixing or transport functions. The studio owner is out of town now and is not returning my calls. Can anyone tell me how to get PT to recognize the Control 24 again? I have a session tomorrow and cannot have the system down.

If you trashed the PT preferences file than you need to enable the C24 again from Setup>Peripherals>Ethernet controllers menu. Check the enable box and choose the C24 from the first menu.

He's absolutely right, just go into peripherals, and scan for the C-24 and it will see it, and then click on the first box (or second, I forget as I am not near my studio right now) and it will come back. this can also happen any time you upgrade to a new PT version , but not always.
