Serato Plug-ins ?

Hello venue users
I have question for those of you who use the Serato plug-ins. I only can afford to buy the one of the two bundles either the Graphic and Parametric EQ
or Dynamics - Compressor and Gate at a time. So if you could only buy one at a time which one would it be and maybe explain why.

Perhaps you can let us know what plug-ins you are using now... I would approach this like an engineer- if you are getting acceptable results with the dynamics processors you currently own, then maybe the Serato EQ bundle is better for you...

You can actually download the software and get a 30-day authorization. I highly recommend you simply try the software out- what do you have to lose? if you use them both for a month you may be in a much better position to figure out which is the best choice for you...

Good idea I will download the demo forgot about that. I currently have the standard plug-in pack that came with the system no third party plug-ins yet.

I would get the Dynamics for the dynamic EQ function.

I downloaded both bundles for the 30 day trail. I am mixing all weekend so I get to put them through some tests.

It's great for deessing. I also like using it on the low-mids on vocals sometimes if I have singers who get muddy when they sing low in their range.

The key about the Rane is it's not signal threshold based. It looks at your key frequency relative to the overall spectrum of your signal and attenuates your key frequency when it gets out of proportion relative to everything else in your signal.

I've used it to tame vocal and guitar harshness. I've used it to tame uneven bass guitars.

I use it when there is a note or frequency range that might jump out at times depending on what someone is doing. Maybe a vocalist sounds great and I'm feeling really good about it, but then they hit this one note that makes your eyes water. I might use this to fix that note.

We rotate multiple soloists on one mic sometimes on a weekly basis, & the dynamic eq setting helps me out so much in this situation. I find myself not having to go back & re-eq the mic for each person nearly as much anymore.

The dynamic eq feature of the Comp & the ducking feature of the Gate makes this bundle worth every penny.
