It was an issue for me with the original Duet. I wanted the poster to know that. I think it's good that you chimed in as well. Now he has a few points of view.

I was concerned that the high track count and the problems I have had would make the Duet a bad decision. I probably should have not spoken emphatically about it.

Things cleared up for me big time when I switched to an RME PCIe card. Hence my reco to look into RME.

Okay, thanks. I was mostly wondering if there was a common problem I wasn't aware of. Apologies to the original poster for semi-hijacking, but could I ask if you noticed any significant audio quality difference when switching to the RME?

Yes because I use a cranesong convertor as well as benchmark. The big diff is that I can run large projects pushing RTAS into 50 at a buffer of 64 without a problem.
