Default strip silence treats multiple tracks as a group

Why does strip silence, when multiple tracks are selected, insist on creating identical regions on every track instead of treating each track independently?

Right now, I have to select each track independently or else the function treats all tracks as a group.

Will this ever be fixed?? Still broken in 5.1.
