Default Pro Tools 10.3.8 hangs at "Setting up I/O paths... Analog 1-2" [RESOLVED]

Just installed a new Mac Pro 6,1 6-core, and no major issues, but when loading the splash screen/plugs/etc, it hangs on the last step, setting up the I/O paths. I can run sessions, but waiting 5 minutes at that point every time I start Pro Tools is beyond annoying- I'm sure you can all relate. Was never an issue before the new Mac and Mavericks. I've done all the things usually expected to solve an issue like this- trashing prefs, setting default I/Os, etc.. but nothing is fixing it. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Thanks!

No one? I didn't get this speedy new computer to have to wait an extra 5 minutes at startup... clearly not everyone is experiencing it, so there has to be an answer.

Question Re: Pro Tools 10.3.8 hangs at "Setting up I/O paths... Analog 1-2"

What is your playback engine setting? Hold the "n" key during startup.

Output is going to my 003

H/W Buffer size = 128

Host Processors = 11 of 12 (6 Core Mac Pro)

CPU Limit: 99%

Host Engine Ignores errors, Delay Comp off.

Is there something I should be doing differently? Thanks for any info, sorry for the late reply!

Could it be related to my SSD? Was reading another thread pertaining to that (although it was Windows-based)

I think it's related to the fact that the new iTrashcans must use Mavericks and PT10 is only supported up to Mountain Lion

But I feel like reports of this would be more widespread then- I see very few people complaining about this issue, and I'm sure there are a number of folks running Mavericks + Pro Tools 10...

Lots of people have success with Mav+PT10 but Avid does not support the configuration. Effectively, it means you can try but cannot blame Avid if you don't succeed...

True, and that's understood- it's not like my system *doesn't work*, I'm just now stuck with an absolutely HORRENDOUS load time of around 6-7 minutes, and looking for helpful information, suggestions, or a solution..
