Default Can't get audio from preamp into Digi 002r

Hey all...

I've got an ART Digital MPA II that I want to use for my vocal mics. I've got signal showing up on the VU on the MPA, but can't get anything into ProTools. I'm using the TOS output from MPA to the TOS input on the Digi... But can't get a signal. Checked the cable, it's plugged in properly. Shouldn't there be a stereo signal coming out of the MPA going into the Digi as ADAT 1&2? Or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Things to check:
1-Hardware settings, set Optical=SPDIF...OR
use an RCA SPDIF cable

2-Make sure the MPA is set to the same sample rate as your session.

3-clocking; Set Clock Source to Optical(if using lightpipe) or SPDIF (if using RCA SPDIF connection). Improper clocking will cause 1 of 2 things; clicks and pops in your audio(from the digital connection) or no audio will pass.

4-Assuming you are recording at 44.1 or 48K, I recommend using the RCA SPDIF connection. That leaves the lightpipe open for adding an 8-channel preamp like the Behringer ADA8200(great value) or maybe a Midas XL48(amazing for drum recording).

Thanks, Albee... I've ordered an RCA s/pdif cable to increase my options. I also have a Focusrite 18i20 interface on the way. Time to finally retire the old 002r!
