Default Upgrading from mbox2 mini to used digi 002r is it worth it?

I am currently using a mbox 2 mini USB with protools 8, I got an offer to buy a digi 002 rack at a decent price, ofcourse more inputs is always good. But most importantly it is firewire, i think my mbox 2 is USB 1? and firewire would offer lower latency and such right? maybe I can run more plugins also?

So is this worth it? is digi 002 compatible with protools 8 and vista? would be nice to hear from others using this system
