Pro Tools 9 and Windows Vista
Hello everyone,
I wanted to know if their is any possibility to use Pro Tools 9 running windows Vista. I have a sweetwater creation station that is tweaked for peak performance with Windows Vista. If I install Windows 7 I take it that all goes away? Yikes! |

Re: Pro Tools 9 and Windows Vista
I will bet you anything that it will work, you will not have any AVID Support but IM sure it will work, Someone on the Forum is running Pro Tools 9 on Windows XP. Windows 7 is built on the Vista Platform they are not that different. IM sure Pro Tools 9 will run better on Windoes 7 but IM sure it will work even tho I have never tried it, IM running Pro Tools 8 on Vista Business 32bit and Pro Tools 9 on Window 7 64bit just to make sure Pro Tools 9 is as stable as can be, Thank you

Re: Pro Tools 9 and Windows Vista
I tried as well. The installer wouldn't run stating that I was on vista. I believe that you can upgrade vista to 7 without losing everyrthing provided its the same version ie 32 bit to 32bit prof to prof etc. Clone your system then try it. If it doesn't work install 7 ,and PT 9 on a new drive and just slowly install everything else. That's how I did it on my laptop that ran vista.
