Question Protools 9 and Mbox2 Windows 7 recording problem

Ok, thanks for any help that I can get, here goes... When I launch Protools 9 I open a test session because I have yet to record anything, I go to Setup...Hardware...and in the Hardware Setup window under Peripherals all I see is Asio4All. Why isn't my Mbox 2 listed? I have all the up to date drivers from the Mbox 2 Family. So I then click the Launch Setup App button and listed under WDM Device List are my Creative SB X-Fi, and my Digidesign Mbox 2 Audio, but even when I select the Mbox 2 I'm unable to record... I've tried every combination! There's no problem with any of my gear, they all worked fine yesterday in Protools 8 le. Can't hear anything in my headphones when I arm an audio track. My mic is a Rhodes NTK 1 and I run that through a Focurite Trakmaster Pro then into my Mbox 2. I can hear playback just fine because I did some midi stuff but I can't record vocals or instruments because the only option I'm given in the Hardware Setup is Asio4All. Why is that and can someone please help me figure this out? Thanks again, appreciation is in order.

ASIO4ALL has been a problem for me. Since you have the Mbox 2, I would uninstall ASIO4ALL and re-install the drivers for the Mbox(with the Mbox connected). Reboot and open Pro Tools(and cross your fingers).

The thing is, if I uninstall the Asio4all, I won't be able to use Adobe Audition 3. Of course my Mbox 2 doen't act right with other DAWs! Thanks for the post though.

I uninstalled Asio4All and reinstalled the Mbox 2 drivers for Protools 9 like you said and I then did everything the same as I said in my original post and I still don't see my Mbox 2 listed under peripherals in the Hardware Setup window. The only thing listed now is Creative Asio... I totally don't understand. My Mbox 2 works fine with PT 8 LE. Any more advice??? Thanks!

Should I just dump my Mbox 2 for a digi 002 or 003 rack? I'm hesitant because I fear that it 's not the actual hardware that's causing the problem, but a particular setting. Say I bought a digi 002/003 and have the same problem I'm having now! I'd be pissed!!! Thanks!

I finally figured it out, I downloaded all the Mbox drivers for Windows 7 I mean every one of them and then I rebooted, then protools 9 wouldn't open until I went to paceap.com and downloaded the Windows driver update and then launched protools 9, clicked Setup, Playback Engine, in Current Engine my Mbox 2 showed up so I chose it and now it is listed in the Hardware Setup window. Maybe that's all I had to do in the first place is change my Current Engine in Playback Engine but, who cares I figured it out. Thanks and I hope my problem and discovery helps someone.
