Hey all.
Completely off topic question about the ZED line of mixers from Allen & Heath.
Does anybody know the difference between the USB and the FW version of this mixers. It seems the new FW versions have a transport section.
It gets very good reviews in the last sound on sound. I am intersted in information on mic pre`s and EQ. Are these the same?
I read somewhere that these sound better than C24........
And a lot cheaper, at least the USB models..

You should move this to the General Discussion section. They won't work with protools(if that is what you hoped for). As to whether it sounds better than the new C24, I'd say its too soon to tell(and would be a totally subjective opinion). Now if you mean the older Control24, I'd guess almost anything sounds better when it comes to mic preamps. Generally speaking, a firewire connection is much faster so it should be able to stream many more tracks than a USB connection. I would expect all mixers in the ZED line to have the same EQ and mic pre circuit.
