USB (Firewire) CD reader are compatible with G4 Pro Tools?
I would like to buy a USB/Firewire) CD reader, to connect to the port of my G4 with Pro Tools Mixplus 5.1.
Is it possible, without problems? ------------------ |

Re: USB (Firewire) CD reader are compatible with G4 Pro Tools?
I have a Que! Fire 8x4x32 (Firewire) drive hooked up to my system(G4 & PT Mix+, 5.1). No problems yet. But only use to burn my stuff and archive.

Re: USB (Firewire) CD reader are compatible with G4 Pro Tools?
I have a Que! Fire that goes up to 12 x (the actual machine inside is really an IDE plextor)and have had no problems importing audio cd tracks.
It actually works better than the DVD-RAM/CD reader that's inside my G4 (I get clicks and reading errors when ripping cd's on that one) It convinced me Firewire is just great ! MArk Haliday |
