Default updating Windows?

Hello -

The official suggestion is apparently that we should avoid using windows update automatically. I have now done a clean install of windows on my system. Is there something I should go get from the windows updates page? Shuold I download all that Windows consider critical or nothing at all? Or should I hunt down the officially ok:d service pack 1 and install that, then nothing else?

Thanks for helping,

Petter

Windows Service Pack 1 is not a requirement for Pro Tools 9. So installing Pro Tools after installing Windows will be fine. Any Prerequisites are installed by Pro Tools.

Get Acronis True Image and take boot-drive images before you change things - just in case you need to roll back. Turn off automatic updates. I manually check for & install Windows updates, and so far have not had any issues.

Alternatively, Casper is quick, easy and cheap.
