Default O/T...sort of...it\'s about MXL mic choice..

Ok, so I've never had a "cheap-o" condensor and I recently came into basically $120 of "free" money. Pretty much sold some crap I never even used. I'm going to Sam Ash tomorrow to pick up a cheap condensor. I'm aiming for the MXL 2006, looks like a good deal, and it gets decent reviews. If they don't have it, then the next choice would be the MXL 990. I'm planning on doing vocals with it and possibly some acoustic guitars, although I'm not going to get my hopes up for the guitars, besides that I get a *great* sound using two dynamic mics on my acoustic (Shure SM57 and Sennheiser e609). So it's pretty much up to you guys, which one you think is better for vocals and for secondary use as an acoustic guitar mic. I don't know anything about MXL mics, and it doesn't matter which one I get really...to me. Mhmm.

I've heard great things about This Kit for an MXL mic, thinking about doing it myself.

check the studio projects large diaphram condensers, there is a couple of choices in that same range....a little smoother sounding in the top end .......just an option.
