Default Audio processing is conflicting with other CPU tasks

That´s the message that appears when I try to record more than 30 secs (aprox) I have changed the buffer size in the hardware panel but the error message keeps appearing.

I can´t activate de option DMA for the hard disk so maybe that´s the problem. What can I do?

Is the PentIII a 700mhz processor?(I really don't know), and what else, other than PT, do you have running?

bersonique,
If you want to do the routine we usually go through, where folks post their IRQa and list out the boards in your system and what slots they're using and all that othe stuff, then we can probably help out.

I'm not very clear how hard you're pushing this machine when you see the problem. Are you recording a single track? Or doing a dave_c test with 24 tracks?

Why can't you activate DMA on your drives?

Anyway, glad to help with more info.

Mark

bersonique

ABOUT THE DMA PROBLEM.

are you using a non standart microsoft ide driver? (find out in control panel-system-device manager-ide). if you do and if it's the intel ata storage driver, it's a main part of your problem.

you better remove it and re-install the microsoft one.

please report with more details so we can help...
