Default Keyboard shortcut not retained after restart

I use the Keyboard Shortcuts feature on OSX (high Sierra) to create shortcuts that aren't available in ProTools and i'm experiencing a strange problem, hopefully someone might be able to help.

I created a shortcut (Shift-Control-Option-Command-D) for Delete. I can see it in PT once it has been created and I know there are no conflicts with PT and the OS.

But when I restart the nMP, the shortcut would disappear. All other shortcuts I created work fine except for ''Delete''. Any idea ?

I don't have the answer but just curious ... isn't the "Delete" key the shortcut for delete?

If you are on the latest Pro Tools, that combination is being used by "Duplicate and Extend Edit".

Sorry it was a typo, I used Control-Option-Command-D and also tried Control-F12...both worked until I restart my computer and PT.

Nope, there's no shortcut key for Delete.

What I mean is, why not use the key in the upper right corner of your keyboard marked "Delete"?

As to your actual question... If you are choosing "restart" while ProTools is running or after a crash - which would then relaunch the application after restart - maybe your user defined shortcuts aren't loading in time to be there before PT starts. Try allowing a few moments after starting the Mac before launching PT. Just a wild guess...

Try the shortcut for "Clear", which is similar to Delete.

The Delete key does not work. Not sure why anyone would restart while PT is running...Anyways, it's not my case or because of a crash, just a normal restart.

OK. you must be talking about deleting a track? Took me long enough.

Here's something my uncle Google found as a "helpful" answer (in 2017) to a question similar to yours:

This is a common issue in all [currently released] versions of 10.12 [Sierra]. Although there isn't a solid fix for it the quickest workaround is to go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > Keyboard > Text and in the lower left corner first click the '+' button then click the '-' button, close System Preferences and you should be good to go. You may need to do this after restarting each time but it only takes a second.
