Authorization Codes

I have downgraded my Mac to be able to load Pro Tools LE 8.0.3.

It installs then prompts me for my authorization code.

I have email from Avid from a while back, but the authorization code is for 8.0.0. They ALSO sent me "amnesty" upgrades ("AMNESTY" - what was I "Guilty" of???)... to download and install at that time. But they never sent me a new authorization code. The 8.0.0 auth code doesn't work).

I also cannot find any reference to auth codes for the packages they display in my "account"... nor can I get any support from those a--holes.

Now what? How the hell can I get an auth code for a product they told me I could download and install??????????????????????

Pro Tools LE 8.0 was never free, although it did come bundled with some Digidesign hardware. There was a free update to 8.0.1 for all Pro Tools 8.0 owners, as well as other free updates.

You have to install Pro Tools LE 8.0, with the authorization code Avid sent you, before you can install any later version.

• consist of 3 groups of 8 characters
• have a single space between each group of characters
• are case sensitive
• start with "DIGI" (all upper case)
• use lower case for other letters
• use “0” (number) and not "O" (letter)

Pro Tools LE 8.0 requires an authorization code beginning with "DIGI0800"

If it doesn’t, you’ll need to contact Avid again, for an authorization code that’ll work with Pro Tools 8.0 - then update it.
