Default Basehead issues (x-post from Gearslutz)

Any other Basehead users getting static, pops, or stuttering after long use?

Happening on both my 8.0.5 LE AND HD 10.0.1 system.

After working with it for, say, a half-hour, the program will playback audio files very choppy and stutter and occasionally will distort or pop the sound files. Usually quitting the app and reopening will fix this, but the problem comes back pretty quickly.

I've been in contact with Steve at BH HQ and while he's very fast in responding and trying to help, we're not coming to any solutions.

LE System is a Mac Pro 1,1; OS X.6.6 with the analog line-out of the mac going to my mixer for auditioning.

HD System is a Mac Pro 3,1; OS X.6.8 with optical out of the mac going into my 192 optical in for auditioning.

Files being auditioned range from 44.1-96k.

I tried adjusting the sample rate on the optical out in the Mac Midi Studio setup, but it still happens on all settings.

I haven't been getting audio anomalies, but the gui freezes on me after longer periods of use. Files still play when I press spacebar, but new files cannot be chosen or tagged. Probably not helpful to your issue, but good to have some bug info out there.

I am not having the stuttering/choppy thing that emf is seeing, but I've got similar issues to dj_grimmace. GUI freeze, playback lockup. I think I've isolated it to a particular library (Boom Library) but not certain. Have to quit and restart Basehead to clear.

Basehead Ver 2.9 on Lion with PT10.0.1 with a Westmere Mac Pro.

I'm on a Nehalem, 10.7.2 and Basehead 2.9 and can confirm is does consistently happen with Boom library sounds.

Basehead released an update addressing the problem DJ Grimmace and I have been having. I haven't had a chance to test it, but if you are still popping and stuttering, Eric, you may want to give it a shot.
