DAE Error 1115 encountered
I am getting "DAE Error 1115 encountered" when trying to open pro-tools. I've looked though this forum a lot trying to find the solution to my problem. None of the solutions that others used worked for me.
I've been running Pro-Tools LE 7.1 with Win XP on my Dell Dimension 4500 for almost a year with no problems unitl now. About a week ago I cut the power to my house to do some electrical work. Unfortunatley, I had a session in Pro-tools open at the time. When I turned the power back on and tried to re open pro-tools I started getting this "DAE Error 1115 encountered" message while the program loads. It gets to "Creating DAE obects" and then freezes and the message pops up. I click OK and program closes. I've also noticed that windows media player will not work. This problem started at the exact same time the PT problem started. I mention this incase helps to give an indication to the savy troubleshooters out there. To solve my Pro-Tools problem I've tried the following. I've tried the following uninstalling and re-installing Pro Tools (several times). Un-installing and re-installing my sound card Deleting Digi Design Databases from C and E drives and restarting. - Deleting DAE and Pro Tools preference files - Deleting the Digidesign Databases folders for all hard drives Nothing seems to work. I'm not really sure what to do from here. Here is my Sandra Report. If any more info is needed for anyone to help me, I surely supply it. ThankYou in advance.... Re: DAE Error 1115 encountered
Given the fact that Media Player isnt working combined with the fact the power got cut with the computer on leads me to think it may be one of two things
A) The OS some how got corrupted because it wasn't shut down correctly and you will need to reinstall Windows. B) Theres also a chance the voltage spike or drop out fried your sound card and or the Mbox. This is if you are using somwthing other than the MBOX2 as you sound card. If your using the MBox as your soundcard than its fairly likely that "electrical event" damaged it. I would try to install the MBox on another computer and see what happens.

Re: DAE Error 1115 encountered
ok. I installed Pro-tools on on different computer with my MBox hooked to it. Then I went to open it and then the same error message popped up.
Also, before doing this. I tried to see if I could play thru my digi box (hooked up to my original compter) and hear sound. I could here plenty of sound going throught the M Box. I spoke into my mic and it was plenty loud. Is it still possible that the box is toasted? |

Re: DAE Error 1115 encountered
Firmware issue? Reinstall the Mbox firmware perhaps?

Re: DAE Error 1115 encountered
Try jus unhooking the Mbox(safely remove), then delete the databases folder(on all the drives) trash them, restart, plug the Mbox back up, & see what happens...

Re: DAE Error 1115 encountered
I’ve had my computer re-formatted now and had windows XP re-installed. I will now re-install Pro Tools LE 7.1. If I get the same error then I am to assume that my MBox is fried. If that is the case than what will be the likelihood that my Lexicon Lambda Audio Box/Interface (that I sill have from my brief stint with CuBase) will work with Pro-Tools?
