Finding out hard drive rpm\'s??
Hello, all. Does anyone know how to find out the rpm of a drive without yanking it, and doing research on it, as I don't think that info isn't usually printed on the drive. I tried About this Mac>More Info to no avail.
Just thought it might be helpful to know how to find out. Thanks, E.

Re: Finding out hard drive rpm\'s??
The easy way - use System Profiler (About this Mac) and find the model number.. then check the manufacturer's specs (or use Google).

If you're talking about typical ATA and SATA drives in desktop computers and peripheral cases these days, they're pretty much all going to be 7200 RPM unless you have 10k WD Raptors. |
