I had these blasts years ago on PT 7 or 8 on PC, usually with no Midi involved. It hasn't happened since I went mac 5 years ago. Not sure if you can call it a 'bug' if the vast majority of users aren't experiencing it?

I wasn't talking about how often it's used, I was talking about hard - the number of tracks running "live" elastic, processor-greedy VIs and other RAM-heavy plug-ins, intricate edits, etc then all piled altogether with intensive automation.
This may also only be a problem that only occurs with HD|Native systems. I'm not sure, I've sort of lost where we're up to with it. But anyway, besides all that, the fact that it's been acknowledged as a bug by AVID themselves disproves your point. |

When it happened to me it could be with a rapper and a beats track or a heavy band session.

I have it all the time on purely mix sessions, no VI and no MIDI involved. Seems to be connected to automation/auxes. Still waiting for a fix...

So good news, I received an email from Avid tech support yesterday, telling me they have fixed the problem, and the fix will be in a forthcoming 12.3.1 update. No date on the update, but they said "very soon" so that's promising.
Fingers crossed it's truly been eradicated once and for all! |
