Default New iLok flashing blue light

Perhaps you have this scary experience, if so, read on!
I discovered a flashing iLok and Pro Tools would not launch. On another Mac the same flashing occurred and I was unable to access the iLok via ilok.com.
Then by chance I left it for some time and tested again, and it worked!
I discovered that the fault is periodic and after plugging and unplugging it twenty times or so, I was able to get a steady light, and I was able to transfer all my licenses to an empty iLok.

My advice is to get a ZDT for any crucial iLok, and keep at least one extra iLok for that rainy day... ;-)
