Default 6101 CPU Overload

Hi all,

I'm Recently doing some Live Recordings over Audinate Dante network.
32 channels(mono) multitrack. I'm doing this to an external harddrive.
Sometimes I can record like 1-2hours without problems, and sometimes after 5minutes it crashes, and says the 6101 CPU Overload.

I'm Running PT.10.3.7, on a Macbook Pro 15", Quad Core i7, 8GB ram.
My settings in Pro tools: H/W Buffer size 128samples, Prossecors 6/8, CPU Using limit: 80%

Try 4/8 processors. If that doesn't work, try a H/W Buffer of 256.

Does the H/W Buffersize matter for recording?

Absolutely. The audio from your interface goes into the buffer, then comes out of the buffer and is written to disk. If the audio in the buffer ever reaches 0 samples, then you get a buffer underrun and a DAE error.

The buffer size also affects the latency you hear while tracking. 256 samples will be twice as latent as 128 samples.

Default Re: 6101 CPU Overload

For live recording(where the performers do not need to hear the recording), I would simply set the buffer to the highest setting(1024?).
