Re: Superior drummer or Steven slate drums
Thank you Chris. From what your saying SD seems to be the one, so I think I'll stick with what I've got. I've got the hand on SD so if ya need to read manuals to get it up and running properly I'll say "it's better the devil you know"
Once again thank you so much for ya experience

Re: Superior drummer or Steven slate drums
Happy I could help eliminate some GAS, even if it wasn't my own. :) It is definiely a worthy product, for me it just offers a nice alternative to the others. Sound wise it is a close 2nd to SD for me and only in 2nd b/c of the intense tweak-ability of SD.
I also have Strike, Battery, NI Komplete 8 Ultimate (so the new Drum VI, and all the Abbey Road kits, etc.). So my GAS runs WAY deeper than earlier admitted. The first step is admitting you have a problem right? :) In SSD4 defense, I just wasn't loading kit pieces right. I was selecting the instrument and then trying to select a new inst. from the list (which doesn't work). You actually just drag the inst from the list on to the kit piece you want to replace. If you want to add to a kit piece you drag to the "pads" on the side. Everything else about the SSD4 was VERY intuitive. I just installed and was up and running it w/o any problems. SD as you know is much deeper and as such requires a bit more study to get to all the things it can do.

Depends on your taste. That's it. I have Superior, SSD3.5, and now I just got SSD4.
I prefer SSD. They fall right into my mixes with near perfection. Sent via VM670

Re: Superior drummer or Steven slate drums
I agree with you 100%. As a drummer myself, triggering several libraries with a V-Drum kit, SSD 4.0 is the best drum library I've ever used. As far as I'm concerned, they've knocked it right out of the park!

Re: Superior drummer or Steven slate drums
Well I caved in and brought SSD4 and my god it blows all the others I've tried out the windows. This VI is out of this world, I highly recommend it

Re: Superior drummer or Steven slate drums
Do you consider the sounds "better" than SD2.0?
If you were to say SSD4 is most similar to "this drum program" in terms of workflow, which would you choose? And why? SD2.0 BFD2 Strike Addictive Drums Battery None Of The Above Thanks.

I think it's a shame SS4 is not available as a demo so people can really use it and find out for themselves. I think SSD4 is defo worth the cash. The only fault is I can't find the Paramore kit. I have SS trigger and in that it's labeled paramore. But in my SSD4 there is no kit with name or any thing close eg panteras kit is called Panty in SSD4. So I have sent a question to the slate team asking if they can steer me in the right direction.

I see Colin Richardson & Michael Wagener have said good things about SSD, that got me wondering if it really does sound that good or so much better than something else, or if the workflow is superior to SD2, BFD (which I don't care for), Strike, AD, ect..... $299 for the Platinum Version is reasonable. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to answer.
