Default Terrible CPU errors in Windows 10

FIXED: Needed to check the "Run Pro Tools as administrator"

I know Win10 isn't supported yet, but I wanted to give it a try. Unfortunately, as soon as I load up Pro Tools 12.4, even on just the startup dialog, the CPU meter in PT is bouncing around like crazy and pegs out into 100%. Obviously, its unusable.

I will be doing a new computer build this week with an intel i7 6700k, but I was curious as what would be causing this issue. Everything ran fine in 7 and 8.1.
I've tried the obvious of removing all plugins, trashing databases, etc...

Here is my Sandra report. Any suggestions?

I doubt this would cause what you're describing but Pro Tools should be installed in your C:\ drive. (I'm assuming the "Pro Tools" drive is where it is?). Or is that just your session drive?

Yes it is installed on the C: drive, the Pro Tools drive is just the sessions and audio files.

Not like this! The CPU meter going crazy before the session is even open. Does it on a completely blank session as well. I've never seen anything like this.

The Windows CPU in task manager shows a huge spike when opening Pro Tools but then it stays at only around 3%. CPU runs around 45-50% Celsius.
So it seems that something is just going on with Pro Tools.

I'm trying to figure out why, so as when I build my new computer this week, if I need to install 8.1 or try 10 again.

Well dang, after trying numerous things I finally figured it out. I didn't have "Run Pro Tools as administrator" checked like I did in earlier Windows versions. And now I have no crazy CPU bouncing.

Wonder why that makes such a huge difference.
