Well whatever it is, NI is so lame for not making offline installers available

So very lame.....like the kind of lame that would have went to work instead of Woodstock.

Not all NI installers allow you to specify the content location and my third party installers did not, I agree you can move the content & when you launch Kontakt it shows content missing where you then point its 'locate content' window to the path where it is kept. Logic Pro X does not allow you to specify where it stores that content.

Your link is broken: 404 not found.
Apologies for the broken link; it used to work. Anyway here's the corrected one: https://support.native-instruments.c...cles/210263925 which is for OSX 10.9.x and lower. Here's one for OSX 10.10.x and higher https://support.native-instruments.c...s/115005719829

Once again - if you pay attention during the install you can tell the installer where to put the content. Many people miss that and in any case many people also don't use the service center to do an actual first install. I don't care about Logic's inability to put sample content where you want. It's strictly up to the third party developer to wrangle with that.

You actually don't need to be online for an install; you just need to be online to download and authorize the install. Once you have the file(s) downloaded & authorized you can pull the plug on the 'net. I keep all my installers saved of to a hard drive in case I need to reinstall something and for NI I don't need to go online to do that.

Hi foxes, back to your original post,
and also to echo Eric from earlier in the thread;
I am running basically the identical machine in the home studio,
with an internal spinner,
and multiple libraries on external FW's through a Nitro A/V hub
and can handle very large sessions and other multitasking very smoothly.

Thanks, my third party libraries definitely did not give that option on installation.

Apple can be right pain in the groin at times.....lol

I too keep all my installers and all Apple OS versions archived on separate drives, best practise indeed.
