Default PT10 does not see my Hard Drive - Windows 7

Alright I have my main Solid State Drive which has windows installed on it as well as Pro Tools 10. It is running Windows 7 as well. I have a second Hard Drive (not external) that has 500GB free and is just waiting to be used by Pro Tools 10 :). The problem is I can not get Pro Tools to see this drive. I formatted it NFTS like I was told with "Perform a quick format" checked and default allocation size.

Some people have told me to simply change the letter to "R" which means Record in the workspace menu, but my drive simply just does not show up in the workspace menu. I have tried running it as an administrator and still nothing has worked for me. When I try to save a new session to this drive it says "Session must be on an audio record volume. If permitted, set the volume(s) in question to "R" (record) in the Workspace."

Please some help would be appreciated. This has been bothering me for quite some time and I just want to start using this drive because my SSD does not have any space to record.

If you click on Computer/My Computer do you see the drive in the window that pops up?

I have always low level formatted for Windows for a new drive with Disk Management under Computer Managment

Yes I can see the drive. I can use the drive and put files on it, run other programs off it. I have no problems with it other than the fact that Pro Tools can not see it.

Have you tried formatting again? This time un-tick Quick Format.

Is this a Sata drive? Have you tried another sata cable or another sata port

Did you remember to assign the drive a letter and name it something less than 11 characters?

Have you checked Device Manager to see if you have any errors?

You could try a chkdsk command to see if there are errors on the disk

You could also try a Windows System file check sfc /scannow

What about trying a reinstall of Pro Tools?
