Default Dverb - RTAS & TDM sound WAY different

So, I put an RTAS Dverb across a piano track for a really long spacey note. The pitch of the reverb tail is modulating! It goes flat as it rings out. I replace the RTAS version with TDM, and it's fine.

Bug?

Try it with other stuff like Sansamp as well. Again different sound.
It's been like this for years.

Hi
In a thread posted a few days ago I wrote about some plugins sounding different (better) as TDM and I got the normal reaction "yeah right".
Derb is in my opinion one of them. Sounding much cleaner in TDM mode. Never liked in LE, love it in TDM.

Th Dverb code was improved and re written in the RTAS version - to include Lexicon style modulation - this has been posted before I think

Perhaps they should update the tdm code to be the same?

cheers

1. Shame on Avid for not having a better "built in" verb for the industry standard DAW.

2. Shame on people for using it. TDM or RTAS.

Hi Drew

Works nicely for post sometimes - dark and cheap! But have to say, tend to use only when Revibe (great workhorse) sounds a bit "posh" and need something "nasty"

cheers

ps love the Seal mixes!

The RTAS version of the Dverb plugin was updated for PT 8.0 to add a "subtle" chorus effect so that in more closely emulated the TDM version. It's mentioned in the in the "Whats New in PTLE 8.0 guide". A lot of the LE folks feel the they overshot the mark by a broad margin.

You can download the 7.3 version (which is the same as the 7.4 version).

I was never a huge fan of Dverb but IMO the recent change made it unusable and I would like to see them change it back or add a button to disable the modulation effects.

Hopefully the link will help some one.

You would think that by now,Reverb One would be the "Stock" Verb.
come one now,who is really paying $995 for it.

Time for them to step up their game.

At least you should respect other peoples choices.

And then ask the average listener if they can tell the difference between a song with 15% dverb, or 15% of a $1000 reverb on an mp3 coming through $20 earbuds.
