Default Every single thing neccesary to run PT First

Love and respect to everyone reading this,
I downloaded PT First on my windows 8 laptop with 6117 errors on startup, which randomly fixed itself it seems but even though I have ASIO4ALL there is no sound coming from PT. I am not given the option to change my outputs in the playback engine.
So I downloaded PT on my HP desktop with windows 7 professional, exact same problem where there is no sound. I have ASIO4ALL.
Avid, will you please tell me in detail every single thing that is necessary for me to properly run PT First on my laptop.
All the bits and pieces please, I don't want to run around with "try this first" then "try that" and I met the requirements in the PT First requirement page.. that was not helpful. I just want to get everything running smooth, from scratch. What are the guaranteed to work necessities?

This is a user forum. While people from Avid do answer questions when they can, that is just an added bonus.

First things first, click the "Help Us Help You" link at the top. Beyond a few simple troubleshooting steps, not much can be recommended if people can't see a detailed breakdown of your computer's specs - this is what a Sandra report is all about.

Second, the easy troubleshooting - If you're NOT able to launch PTF without error, then hold the N key on your keyboard once the splash screen appears. http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...AAE-error-6117 Then follow the instructions in the next paragraph.

If you ARE able to launch PTF without error, go to Setup > Playback Engine and change it to ASIO4ALL V2. Then go to Setup > I/O and click default in each tab. This is the process for Pro Tools, and I'm fairly certain it applies to Pro Tools First as well.
