Default Session froze, then deleted it's self?

I had a session open and i was working on it, when i clicked the save button, the session froze, so i had to do ctrl alt delete because it wouldn't let me quit otherwise. Once i was out, my session file was missing and was no where to be found, how can i get it back? and why would this happen??

Is this due to M-Powered being a beta at the moment?

I don't understand how i session can just delete it's self??

Usually it will do this if it was never saved (i believe) so if you were working on something and you haven't saved it and during the crash it didn't save then it just acted as if it was never saved and the files will delete themselves. Does that make sense? Are there any auto-save files?

Hello.

That strange with was that i actually saved the session previouse times before it crashed. I would understand if the session file went missing if i never saved, but the fact is.... i saved?? This is way i'm soo confused because if i saved before, then how can it delete it's self??

Yea thats really weird. Did you have any back up auto saves to re-open the project or is every single file/folder gone?

Have you added or removed any hard drives? I had a session or two go missing after I moved my drives around and my external FW drive had a different Drive letter. In PT open recent I clicked on the session and it said it was missing. After searching for it I finally realized that it was looking for the wrong drive letter. Scary stuff.

Hello guys.

No, i didn't save any file backups, i do this to save a little bit of space because i don't want it to save different file sessions every 5 minutes or so, but prehaps file backups would help if i ever had this issue again??

No, i haven't removed any hard drives, especially the ones that i have my sessions on.

Yet again, it's soo unusuall that i saved a session and i could actually see the session file, i then open up the same session, save it, it freezes then i can't see the session file anymore after it crashed, tell me this has happened to someone before, yes??

Google EaseUS data recovery and download the demo version and install on a thumb drive, run it just to see if you can see the lost audio files and session documents you had. Also you can reboot the computer hit the f8 key right after the bios post and select "last good configuration if you haven't rebooted since the crash.

Thanks, i'll get that.

Shame that i have rebooted since it crashed, i actually didn't have an option because i had to restart my computer because i think PT just froze it's self along with everything else.
