Default 7.4 and catalogs

So far a happy upgrade (knocking on wood!), Mac HD1 with canopus video, macpro dual 2g...

One problem, upon launch ProTools asks me if I want to convert existing catalog files to the new format. First time I skip it, thinking to save the time; then the next time I say to go ahead and convert, but there is NO activity in the task manager. Hmm I think, that's odd.

Each time I boot, it asks me, and does not seem to do anything either way.

I rely heavily on a huge catalog of my effects drive, so to be on the safe side I re-created my catalog from scratch. No problem, works great.

HOWEVER the old catalog still shows up as a catalog in the workspace browser, though the file kind is "unknown." The new catalog shows up in the browser as a folder, the old one shows as a .ddb file. If I tell the workspace browser to delete the old file, it threatens that "this operation will permanently delete files from your drive."

I don't mind it being there except it asks me every time I open PT if I want to convert that old file...

Digi, can you confirm that deleting this "unknown" kind, old catalog file will only delete that CATALOG file, and not in fact all the associated files on my effects drive?

Thanks!
