Default plugin ? stereo vs. dual mono

is there a huge difference in using plug ins as stereo or dual mono??? on an audio track, a master bus??? How does this apply to the waves stuff...any opinions out there?

I think there is no difference in sound at all. Why should there be?
Some plugins only work in dual mono, thats all.

As far as I know, dual mono came about before stereo, and uses the DSP equivalent of two mono plugs. I believe stereo uses about, or the same DSP as a single mono plug.

i was just curious if the architecture of the plugins themselves might dictate a different behavior depending on the way in which they were utilized.

Dual mono vs stereo can make a huge difference with compression. It can make the sound bounce back and forth between the speakers. Be careful.
