Default Remote for PTLE to start/stop play/rec etc

And I don't mean a control surface with moterized faders, but little device with "Play", "Rec", "Punch" "Rewind" etc on it! I know they exist for stand alone multitrack recorders, and they're probably midi controlled so they must be compatible with ProtoolsLE. Or am I wrong?

yes! That´s what I want too. I´m not able to record myself comfortable, when there is no one who starts ProTools. To have this control unit, I could take it with me into the recording room and start recording!

Have you thought about wireless keyboards yet? I am using one and it works great. I take it to the drum kit or in the booth with no probs.

I don't think it works for protools, but I think Syntrillium makes a cool little box called "the red rover". I think it would only take having drivers written for it for PT to make it work, but I don't know if anyone is going to do that.

Yap, IR.
It works through walls over distances to 5 meters away.
Look here

I have the Cordless Elite Duo, BTW.

If you want to go through a wall, IR is no good. IR is light, and needs to be in the line of sight of the reciever. RF is a better way to do it. The good news is that is think a lot of wireless keyboards are indeed RF (Radio Frequency).

Light can pass walls. It just has to be bright enough...
