Default PTLE 8 & Apogee Symphony

Hi there,
I'm thinking about "upgrading" my AD/DA conversion. Does anybody knows if i can use an Apogee Symphony system with my PTLE8 (003 rack). I haven't found any good information about this.
Thanks

I don't think so.. but check their website. Looks like it's a PCI card..

I think what you want is an Apogee Rosetta 800. The Symphony series are actual IO cards, whereas the Rosetta's can be used as just AD/DA converters. The 800 is 8 channel, so would fit your 003 quite well.

Someone else chime in and correct me if I'm wrong here.

I'm pretty sure you're right. The Symphony system is based on a PCIe card. You then add various a/d/a converter options.

However, the Rosetta series (200 and 800) and the Ensemble both offer optical ADAT ports, so should work with the 002 or 003s. The Rosetta 200 even has an s/pdif TOSlink as an option. RME is another option - I use that with PT8 and my 002R and it's worked flawlessly for about 5 years now.

Note that when you use an ADAT port, you will be limited to 44.1k or 48k sampling rate - 96k won't be available.

Actually my question was if it is possible to enter directely in PT with an Apogee Symphony system (without the 003), but it's not possible yet ...

Pro Tools LE requires a Digi interface to be connected it is a PT dongle as well as an interface.
