Default anyone 002R PT 10.3.9 crash while saving?

anyone still using the 002 - ?

getting crashes.

mostly saving during playback.....
100% repeatable with
N.I. - massive, fm8 and absynth 5

have been talking with NI support and we have discovered that it's the 002.
(can switch to ASIO4ALL and use the internal 'onboard' sound chip thing - but not the 002R

I want all my ins and outs!

Help us Help You - READ THIS Before Posting!
Need a lot more info to help. Especially, the exact version of Pro Tools, and firewire chipset. Is this a new problem with a system that WAS working fine before?

Should also say - the plugs, massive, absynth 5, did have some problems in PT9 but never caused a crash.

massive's GUI was messy and Absynth 5 would remember tweeks I'd made or, when coming from someone elses' system my Absynth would read what they had done.
if that makes sense.
Cheers

FireWire/1394 Controller 1 : VIA VT6315 Series Firewire Controller
this is a red flag for me. VIA firewire is often a "no go", but I also don't know if the motherboard's chipset is compatible either. But if this system ran good with PT9, then it SHOULD be okay. Maybe disable the VIA firewire and install an approved FW card that uses a TI chipset

Cheers man,

when I first bought 'this infernal machine!' I did get a texas instruments card, that didn't do anything - just static (coulda been a bum card, coulda been this crazy world we live in? but this $40 little generic all star yum cha guy I had got me working)
So I left it at that. and all was good until upgrade to PT 11 / 10. I still need RTAS

It's weird - It's working as an ASIO box for everything else - all the VST stuff - ableton, FL studio, etc. I thought that it could be the AAX protocol ( and it is just those few NI plugs that cause the crash) But the advice that NI support guys (given a couple of months) gave me pointed to the 002 FW

I'm kinda beyond giving too much of a [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep] anymore.... I'm not going to PT12.
Just one of those things :)

Thanks for lookin'
