Default ADR & VO video playback options Question

I have a video output question for ADR and VO. I'm looking to add 1 playback monitor in my studio and another one in the vox booth so the talent can see the picture. I'm running a Mac Pro with HD 2 installed. I'm looking at the Decklink Extreme. Will that give me the option to run 2 video feeds. 1 over HDMI and 1 over Composite? Any help will be great.

All the outputs are supposed to work at the same time. What i wouldn't be able to verify is if there is any different latency vis a vis HDMI / analog.

What is another way of doing this? If the decklink isnt the right option?

The Decklink has so many options on the breakout cable, you might consider 2 similar analog outs.

a) it's best to use the same brand and model of monitor for both rooms
b) path: source output > Distribution Amplifier for the type of signal your using > to monitors (you may need extenders here depending on your setup)

this is how are ARD and Foley rooms are set up

I have found that the same brand and product line/series is acceptable. You don't have to use a 50" in both your control room and the booth, but if the sizes are different, they need to be from the same product line or product series, and you need to use the same type of input. Otherwise you cannot guarantee synchronicity between the displays.

get a mojo - cheap second hand - rock solid lock (best you can get) with avid media (guaranteed frame accurate NO drift). Composite video to both.

Your only issue then is monitor latency - measure with sync check or a dv camera - easily do-able since you have no ProTools video variable latency that you have with ALL other systems.

cheers
