Re: Video Engine Problems with Pro Tools 11
I recently received a ProRes 442(LT) video file to work with which shows up as a black screen in PT 11.3.1
Funny enough, a H.264 file wíll play, even though the ProRes file will get a reassuring checkmark on the clip while the H.264 file won't. Windows 8.1 Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 Nvidia Geforce GTX770 Is there any hope on the horizon? |

Re: Video Engine Problems with Pro Tools 11
You might want to try the 11.3.2 update, if you can figure out how to get ahold of it. According to the readme, they fixed some video playback issues, although I did not see the formats that you identified, mentioned in the readme.

Re: Video Engine Problems with Pro Tools 11
This has been a frustrating week... I'm having this problem on one of my two machines (Studio Blue in my sig)
PTHD 11.3.2, refuses to launch the video engine. Progress bar showing "Waiting for video engine to launch" has been stuck on 30% for 2 hours now. Happens when I try to enable Video Engine with no session open, happens when I open a session with video in it. Tried rolling back to 11.3.1, but that gave me tons of EuCon problems. Manually deleted all Pro Tools stuff, trashed prefs and databases, reinstalled several times now. So I'm a bit stuck here. Video is DNxHD 720 8-bit, 29.97 FPS. Needed this for a delivery today, after wrestling with it all Friday night (along with Waves problems too) and most of yesterday, I gave up and completed my work with my laptop. EDIT: 3 hours in, progress bar is at 100% but nothing happens. Only available option is to click cancel. I'm attempting to roll back (yet again) to the earliest version of Pro Tools 11 that's in my account - which is 11.3.1. If I can't get this to work, then I will be pretty upset about it and will not upgrade my HD license to 12 at the end of this year. In the past three days I have spent 90% of my active time trying to get Pro Tools to work, and only 10% of my active time actually using the software to edit and mix. That's a untenable situation. EDIT2: Finally got it working. Complete system update, reinstallation of Quicktime, Pro Tools, Video codecs. Of course Eucon only works 50% of the time now. But I guess that's better than having no video at all.
