PRO TOOLS & MIDI CONTROLLERS

Is there a way to control the faders in PRO TOOLS via an external synth controller.

I have six controller knobs on my synth. I would like to be able to control the faders in PROTOOLS with my synth through MIDI.

I know I can do this in Cakewalk, but I have no clue for PT...


Also, is there some kind of driver that is available, so MIDI communication occur between two software applications on the same computer??? You know, something like the VIRTUAL MIDI ROUTER that comes with soundforge???

Hi Dmaxj,
If I'm not mistaken your controller must be able to "emulate" or be programmed to one of the supported control surfaces for Pro Tools- such as the CS10 or Mackie HUI--if it can emulate such MIDI protocol, you could use it for a controller.
I would check to see if your controller is programmable then check the Pro Tools Midi Controllers Guide (appendix a) for programming and "Using Other MIDI Controllers".
