Default Unable to unlink multiple clips from AAF

Sorry for another newbieish question (first full-on PT dubbing project, I'm normally Pyramix and it's a fairly painful transition...)

My first show's AAF was fine. This second one is odd though, in as much as some of the clips are ganged together. When I highlight one, several others in the same vertical plane are automatically selected. Worse, it is often impossible to deselect them... if I manually shift-click one I don't want, they all deselect. Grrr.

It's kinda reached a critical stage now I've conformed to multitrack media, which themselves also take on this glorious magical linked / ganged property, and I've thus sort of ground to a halt again.

It's obviously not the clip group feature, it's something else. I'm sure there's an easy answer / solution, grateful to anyone who can share it, thanks!

EDIT - there was an easy answer - groups were set to ALL. Please ignore - ta!
