Default Locking audio files in OSX finder

At the studio I work we have a template session which is used by several engineers. There are a lot of audio files in that template which must stay in that session. From time to time however, some files get deleted by accident. Locking in Pro Tools doesn't prevent that; by clearing it from the region list, it's still possible to delete it.

Now, would it be a good idea to lock the files from the OSX finder by enabling 'Locked' in the info of that audio file? Will Pro Tools work stable with locked audio files? Any long term experiences?

After short testing this seem to work; it's still possible to clear the file from the session, but there's no possibility to delete it any more.

Put the files on a volume and set it to "TRansfer" in the workspace browser, that way any files cannot be deleted only copied from within Pro Tools.

I was about to suggest the same.
Still, files CAN be deleted from within Protools even if on a transfer drive. Point is those files will be copied to a specified location when you create a new session from the template, and thus the original files won't be deleted when you do a session clean-up.
On the other hand, if there's a lot of files in the template, maybe one would not want them to be duplicated over and over again.

To get on topic, no, I would not dare to lock audio files in finder level. Smells like bad PT karma.
