Max announced the demo as follows :

Pro Tools 10 14 Day Trial -

The best way to understand the value of Pro Tools HD 10 is to use it. Currently, that’s hard to do, unless you buy it, so we’re introducing a 14-day trial for Pro Tools and Pro Tools HD 10 starting next week on the Avid website. With the 14-day trial everyone will be able to experience the speed, power and capability of Pro Tools 10 first hand, and with no risk.

I wish I had better news. Look at it from a positive side : you get to spend some extra quality time with your friends or family instead

It will be available soon. And it will be worth it.

It will be the full version of 10 correct?
It's just the license that will make it a 14 day demo?

That 'and with no risk' part in your statement scares me... will my 9 license get wiped out by some strange twist of fate?

with all that's gone on lately, i'm sure they'll have this worked out and it will be 100% safe. this isn't at all a difficult thing to avoid.
