Default When MDB is dammaged, what is the best rescue soft

I've lost all data on my 168GIG drive(with a Granite Digital Smart Vue enclosure)

The master directory block is damaged. Norton, Disk Warrior are unable to come to the rescue.

I'm trying now Data Rescue but it doesn't seem able to rescue!...

Any suggestions are welcome.

Have you tried disk warrior 3? Its fixed problems like this before for me. Just the other day it fixed a partition on a fire wire drive that OS9 just wanted to format!! Norton 8 is also pretty good. The updates to these programs makes a big difference.

Does Disk Warrior recovers even when it hasn't been protected?

If the data on the drive needs to be recovered and cannot be lost, stop what you are doing immediately. DO NOT USE ANY MORE REPAIR PROGRAMS (NORTON/ETC.) (many times those programs can be helpful although if by chance you have a hardware failure or serious problem that these programs could not correct, by using these programs you may make your data unrecoverable by the professionals) Power down the drive. Contact at once On-Track, DriveSavers or any other number of specialists whom can help you recover your data. The most important thing is to not run any more of these home based utilities, which can hamper a successful recovery,

If Diskwarrior isn't seeing it....
try powering down the drive first
then launch DW
then turn the drive on.

worked for me once when i thought I would have to use a recovery service.
good luck.

my two cents........

I've had success with "the Warrior" as well, but once or twice, when I was at the end of my so-called rope, I tried this little utility called "hard disk speedtools". I think it's written by a company called Initech (remember the movie "Office Space"?) I got the cd with a cheapo drive I bought for a client.

Ya never know.........
