Possible list of supported thunderbolt 2 pcie card for PC

Maybe I misunderstood this so please correct me if I'm wrong.

I own a MacBook pro laptop as well as a workstation PC. If I buy the HD native set up it has to work with both computers or at least I hope it will.

My pc has at least 5 empty PCIe slots. I called a number of stores and none were able to give me a solid answer. Is there a list of supported thunderbolt 2 pcie cards for pc computers? Have you guys had any luck with using some that work better than the others? Thanks

I have yet to be able to find a card for a PC. There are a handful of TB-equipped motherboards if you are game for a build. I found this one at newegg

there are some TB cards from/for HP Z work stations and Asus but they are for special motherboards/computers that except them

Good to know about these motherboards. That would open a whole new can of worms for me though. I can't believe nobody's come up with card that could work with most new motherboards.

Yes, the B&H guy told me they only work with HP computers. Too bad Avid hasn't come up with options for windows computers.

I'm not following what you want Avid to do exactly? Are there enough folks actually with Thunderbolt to justify them doing something? And every (desktop) PC you would want to run stuff on has nice PCIe slots so just stuff in a PCIe card... How many Windows laptops have Thunderbolt? How is that market really large enough to justify porting and supporting drivers on?

Apogee, UAD all have thunderbolt interfaces, but only support them on Mac. Avid HDN, MOTU and the new Focusrite Clarett support Mac and Windows with their Thunderbolt interfaces, so things are starting to change.

A problem with Thunderbolt on Windows, besides Apple exclusive time to market deals, was Microsoft dragging their feet/being more in the USB3 camp. I'd blame them for the whole unavailability of Thunderbolt on Windows PCs and laptops way before I blamed Avid.
