Default Pro Tools 8

Hello -

I purchased Pro Tools 8 about 10 years ago as part of a bundle. I no longer have the installation disc and I'm on a new computer. I also never had an Ilok account or code.

Any way to download on my newer PC (Windows 10)?

Many thanks.

Hi. Welcome to the forum.
First thing: PT8 will never work on a W10 machine.

Second thing: To run Pro Tools 8 you'll need a piece of Digidesign (pre Avid) hardware, such as Mbox 2, Digi 002/003... but if you can find one of these, you can run it without an iLok or iLok account.

I have a still functioning version on a 2007 iMac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 with a Digi003 - not my main rig though!

Oh, and download links for Pro Tools 8 are just a google search away FYI.

You would still need a license code. It would have been on the inside cover of the getting started manual. The license could also be in your Avid account if it had been registered or purchased via the Avid store.

IIRC, the authourisation of PT 8 LE consisted of simply typing in the serial number found on a sticker pasted onto the last page of the user manual. But of course, as said, you must have a PT8 device connected.
