Default R.I.P. Ikutaro Kakehashi

Roland founder and TR-808 creator Ikutaro Kakehashi dies at age 87.

Not a household name, I confess I didn't know who the man was until I read the obituary, but boy there's a LOT we have to thank this man for!

The 808, the Juno, the Jupiter, the D-50, MIDI, the GR-55, the JC-120, every Boss guitar pedal I've ever stomped on... The list goes on and on.

Domo arigatou gozaimasu Kakehashi San. Rest in peace.

You're welcome.

I still have my two 1985 Roland Bolt-60 hybrid (solid state pre/tube power amp) combos. Veterans of a thousand plus shows. Used to drive FOH engineers & all my Marshall & Mesa playing friends mad...
