Intel iMac performance question

Hey all, getting ready to update to a new machine, wondering if anyone has any real info on how the new iMac's are working out. How many plugins running at once, latency issues, etc. My sessions are mostly rock band stuff, 8 to 10 live drum tracks, couple of bass tracks, 2 to 4 guitar tracks, vocals. I also use Reason quite a bit as a stereo imput, so I want to know if anyone has been doing anything similar that could give me an idea of what to expect, or if I should skip it. I mostly use comps, eq's, delays, and one reverb. I really like the guitar amp simulators, and those are CPU hogs, so if anyone has anything to say about it, let me know. Thanks in advance. I've searched this forum for this topic for about 2 hours, can't find any real stats to give me an idea of what these machines can do.

look for posts right after Digi posted the 7.1.1 update
to run on Intel Macs..

also look at the advanced options for search i.e. using a + sign
to narrow down the topic key words. If you learn to use the search function
on the DUC, you can find most anything quickly...
