I also like many here had problems with digi support, so I have the right to express my self, and i DID MY COMPLAINTS BEFORE, problems can be differents but the minstreating is the same, and one thing the Earthquakes & etc kill many people!! do you know???

I just wanted to bump this thread to try to keep it at the top.

Avid, this has the potential to become a very volatile situation. Sure we are disappointed about things like ADC, and artificial track count limitations, etc.... but this white noise issue will (if it hasn't already) destroy an Artist or Engineers hearing. If an artist is blasted with white noise and can no longer earn a living then he will likely sue the studio or Engineer which could in turn ruin someone else's ability to earn a living or possibly cause a studio to have to shutdown.

I personally believe that at this point it is negligence on your part if you don't remove the update, and warn people about the potential danger. Your customers are Musicians, Producers, and Engineers who all rely on their hearing to earn a living or at least in order to use your product.

I really Enjoy and rely (and have for many years)on your products but this is unacceptable. If I were in your shoes, I would put all remaining man power into resolving this issue quickly before someone really gets hurt.

Perhaps we should start a Forum petition to get it taken off until the problem is solved.
I first posted about this on Jan 13 2010! That is exactly 3 months ago. Still nothing! There were earlier posts that I found out about later. So, how does this get by AVID? It happens to almost every user, but they never caught it? Help me understand, I am confused.

I found out the hard way, by blasting a drummer in his headphones. Scariest moment of my recording career. By far.

Kris, don't get me wrong, something needs to be done but what official action have you taken to make Avid aware?

I never went to 8.0.3, THANKS to the DUC Hobos!!!

But Avid better does something right now, otherwise this issue can have serious consequences....
..., but what if they only took action when their stock price tumbles, because of bad news....would be really outrageous if management only reacted to this.
