Default Failed to install Mbox 2 mini as a default sound device in Windows 7 64-bit

Well, I got my Mbox 2 mini installed on the base of Windows 7 64-bit. And I wish it to be the audio device not only for the PT work, but for the overall system. So I've tried to install 8.0.4b drivers for 64-bit but instead of a normal clean sound there is some kind of a dirty noisy one appears out of the speakers. Seems like it is processed through some kind of a sid synth or something... Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance..

The beta drivers for Windows 7 and 64-bit are flaky at best. Your best bet is to wait until proper drivers are released. For the time, I've just run my soundcard outs to my MBOX inputs for Windows sound.
