01v (original) MIDI control of PT LE 6.4
* OS X 10.3.x
* mBoX / Pro Tools LE 6.4 * Yamaha 01v (original) * Edirol UM-2 I seem to be having a hard time getting my 01v to control (at least to begin with) the channel faders in Pro Tools. I had a good read of <http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/may0...oolsnotes.htm>, the 01v manual and the MIDI Control Surfaces guide but I'm having a little difficulty putting it all together. What I've done * MIDI hardware is connected * Audio MIDI setup : Tx Ch 1-16, MIDI Beat Clock (off), MIDI Time Code (ON) Rx Ch 16, MIDI Beat Clock (off), MIDI Time Code (ON) General MIDI (OFF) MIDI Macine Control (ON) * PT Peripheral Setup CS-10 | Tx Port (01v) | RX Port (01v) | # Channels (16) Control Surfaces Guide tells me that data is in the form BF cc vv (where cc = switch / wheel and vv is vv=value) So Fader 1 should be : BF 40 (0-7F) So I figure the last thing to do is actually set up the 01v itself - its here I get a bit lost. * Its set to Tx on Ch 16 * I set the 01v Remote (page 3) fader 1 parameters to BF 40 FAD END What the! It now works for some reason! OK, here stands an intro guide for the 01v (probably reinventing the wheel)! An afterthought - how hard is it to REVERSE things so I can control the 01v from the on screen faders? Cheers, Antony. |
