Question please help!!

I have never seen a control 24, dont own one, but need some info for a project im doing for my course.

how do all the inputs on the back work when synced with a 003 rack??

I am presuming that you connect the Control 24 to your computer using the enthernet cable and it just becomes one huge expensive pro-tools controller??
